Dunlop Foams
Dunlop Foams’ long history and expertise in PU foam manufacturing and conversion in Australia and New Zealand is unsurpassed. As a proud Australian owned company, supplying to both industrial and consumer markets, the tradition of research and development has contributed to Dunlop Foams being synonymous with quality and value. Dunlop Foams is a subsidiary of Pacific Brands. Like all members of the Dunlop family of companies, its origins go back to John Boyd Dunlop (1840-1921), the inventor of the rubber pneumatic tyre. The introduction of upholstery foam in Australia goes back to the early 1930s when the Dunlop Perdriau Rubber Company started producing Dunlopillo rubber latex foam. Dunlop Foams commenced manufacture of prepolymer-based polyurethane foams in Australia and New Zealand in the 1960s, and has always been at the fore front of technology and product innovation. Today, Dunlop Foams is Australia’s largest polyurethane flexible slabstock foam producer and the only organisation in the industry with a presence in every State.
Flexible polyurethane foam is one of the most versatile materials ever created. It’s used in hundreds of consumer products to provide comfort. Flexible polyurethane foam appears to be a simple product, but it is actually very complex. It can be produced to have an almost infinite variety of properties.
